Nowadays studying over the internet has become a practical way to learn something new in the comfort of one's home. This is also true for any music course.

In the 1980's Frank studied with the legendary Boston teacher Charlie Banacos (teacher of Mike Stern, John Scofield, Michael Brecker etc). After studying with Charlie in person, when Frank moved from Boston he continued to work with Charlie by sending tapes back and forth.  At first, Frank was skeptical about this method, but soon became convinced of its merits and continued to work with Charlie from a distance.

Frank has received many requests to offer his courses online from students who do not live close enough to take lessons in person. Technology has improved the possibilities for distance learning.  Now you can study Frank's jazz improvisation course by sending video or audio to his e-mail. Along with individualized exercises, you'll receive videos of Frank's students playing certain exercises and recordings of the masters (with reduced tempo) to analyze or transcribe.

vielen Dank für Deine ebenso klaren wie motivierenden Worte!

Ohne viel weiteres Nachdenken (das ist sowohl eine gute als auch eine schlechte meiner Eigenschaften) habe ich mich heute morgen ans Klavier gesetzt und meine erste 15-Minuten-Einheit geübt...

... es funktioniert und vor Allem: Es hat Spaß gemacht!

Ich bin jetzt wieder viel zuversichtlicher und freue mich, Dir die ersten Ergebnisse präsentieren zu können.

Fico muito preocupada quando improviso e acabo atravessando e me

das macht spaß.

im anhang meine hausaufgaben, allerdings erstmal nur als audiofiles.  :-)

eine videokamera werde ich mir alsbald zulegen, da macht das natürlich noch mehr spass.

Hallo Frank,

ganz herzlichen Dank für die Zusendung der ersten Lektion. Alle Dateien, d.h. 1 x pdf und 3 x video sind "wohlbehalten" bei mir angekommen.

Wow! Ich bin wirklich positiv überrascht: Erwartet hatte ich standardisierte Dateien mit Lerninhalten - was ich von Dir erhalten habe ist eine ganz individuelle erste Stunde auf Video!!! Das ist wirklich fast wie eine Stunde face-to-face. Echt super.

Dann werd ich mich jetzt erst mal ans Üben machen. Das Aufnehmen per Video wird auch eine Premiere sein, auch wenn ich alles erforderliche (Kamera, Software usw.) bereits habe....
